It is International Women's Day today, March 8th 2026. Due to back & shoulder issues, I didn't make it to the March. I will use my voice in my monthly blog. As I sit before the screen, I've been listening to Joni Mitchell, Joan Baez, Alicia Keyes, and Olivia Rodrigo, all powerful, poetic women who use their voices for good and beauty. These women also speak up and out for women's rights and freedom. The Resilience photo above was taken ten years ago at the Women's March in opposition to trump determined to set women back to the 1950's. Today, we are in an even more unfortunate state. The Epstein class where misogyny and enablers have overtaken the law by not releasing ALL of the files displays how money and power has protected them for decades. The files still being held back show the worse guilt of trump and HIS DOJ are scrambling everyday to hide, redact, and delete to protect an audience of one, instead of we-the-people. Is it a coincidence that the documented FBI interviews of a woman sexually and physically assaulted finally coming out and suddenly trump partners with fellow monster and attacks Iran? Wag the dog distraction is only making it worse.
It's time to LISTEN to and BELIEVE women.
Women’s voices have shaped societies throughout history, yet their representation in many areas remains limited. Despite progress in gender equality, women often face obstacles that prevent their perspectives from being heard fully or fairly. This post explores why women’s voices are still underrepresented, the barriers they encounter, and practical ways to amplify their presence in society.
Why Women’s Voices Matter
Women bring unique experiences and insights that enrich conversations, decision-making, and cultural development. When women’s voices are included, communities benefit from diverse viewpoints that lead to better policies, innovation, and social cohesion. Ignoring or silencing women limits progress and perpetuates inequality as it is in this administration run by white billionaire men and white (so-called) Christian Nationalists.

For example, in politics, women leaders often prioritize social issues such as healthcare, education, and family welfare, which can lead to more balanced governance. Amplifying women’s voices is not just about fairness; it’s about building stronger societies.
Common Barriers to Women’s Representation
Several factors contribute to the underrepresentation of women’s voices in public and private spheres. These barriers are often interconnected and reinforce each other.
Cultural and Social Norms
Many societies hold traditional views about gender roles that discourage women from speaking out or taking leadership positions. Women may be expected to prioritize family responsibilities over public engagement or to remain silent on controversial topics. These norms can create an environment where women’s opinions are undervalued or dismissed.
The appalling photo below was taken when Bondi was questioned about the still missing epstein files and the fact that perpetrator's names were being redacted but not the victims of sexual abuse by Epstein. The international sex trafficking ring of powerful and rich men part of an international sex trafficking ring of minors) have been protected in the largest coverup in US history. A congress-woman asked if victims were willing to stand and raise their hands during the hearing. The iconic photo (which will go down in history) shows Bondi in defiance REFUSING to turn around and acknowledge the women brave enough to be there and still demanding for the predators to be held accountable. Can you imagine how many women are too fearful to come forward. This is a perfect example of women not being heard or respected by someone who's duty it is to protect the people in this broken country.

Lack of Access to Platforms
Women often have fewer opportunities to access platforms where their voices can be heard. This includes media, political offices, corporate boards, and academic forums. Without access to these spaces, women’s perspectives remain invisible to wider audiences.
For instance, studies reveal that women are underrepresented as experts quoted in news stories or as speakers at conferences. This limits their influence on public discourse and policy.
Gender Bias and Stereotyping
Bias against women can manifest in subtle and overt ways. Women may face skepticism about their expertise or leadership abilities. Stereotypes that portray women as emotional or less rational can undermine their credibility. These biases discourage women from participating or cause their contributions to be overlooked. This is the exact reason a woman has yest to become president of the USA! In this administration, women have been villainized, the epstein victims referred to as Democratic props by trump, their lives threatened and made to look as if they are the guilty ones. Follow the money. Huge sums were funneled to epstein via bribery and favor. He was in close ties to both Putin and Netanyahu (both monstrous war criminals) but have all the dirt on trump). It's so obvious since these dictators have him by the balls and lead him by the nose, even into a war with Iran and siding with Russia instead of Ukraine. Epstein's international sex ring has tenacles everywhere and these billionaires and oligarchs fund trump to ensure their protection from public scrutiny and prosecution..
So, what do we do?
Keep fighting and insist that your representatives demand all the files to be released and to STOP taking AIPAC money that is holding them back from flooding the zone and fighting harder due to the obligation and having to be beholding to the corporate and AIPAC dirty money that goes along with capitulating. Speak out against the Iran war that trump hoped would be a distraction from his worst guilt in the epstein files but it only made it worse. It's still a story while the war costs Americans a BILLION a day killing our service men and women, as well as thousands of women and children. It's a blatantly hot headed illegal move without congress approval or a plan. Stand up for health rights, children's safety and food security, social justice and more against authoritarianism.
Safety and Harassment Concerns
Fear of harassment or violence can silence women, especially in public or online spaces. Many women avoid speaking out due to threats, abuse, or discrimination. This creates a chilling effect that limits their participation. This has become a daily standard under the trump regime. going after and/or prosecuting people that speak out against him. Narcissism is a clinical diagnosis and trump doesn't have one cell of empathy. If you've paid attention he speaks the words himself as a lifelong sexual predator and lean toward underage girls. epstein was his BFF. Take a moment to consider an utter disdain for women and how, in his mind, he's done nothing wrong and above the law at all times.
Examples of Women Overcoming Barriers
Despite these challenges, many women have found ways to amplify their voices and create change.
Malala Yousafzai spoke out for girls’ education despite threats from extremists. Her courage brought global attention to the issue.
Greta Thunberg started a youth climate movement that gained worldwide support, showing how one voice can spark a global conversation.
Ruth Bader Ginsburg used her legal expertise to challenge gender discrimination and expand women’s rights in the United States.
These examples show that while barriers exist, determination, support, and strategic action can help women overcome obstacles.
How to Amplify Women’s Voices
Creating a society where women’s voices are heard requires collective effort. Here are practical steps individuals and organizations can take: We MUST stand together and stand up united for women treated unfairly and treated as if they are the perpetrators retraumatizing them over and over. As a woman, who understands the fear, I never admitted to being molested as an 11-year-old until I was in my 40's. I was also nearly raped by a serial rapist in Houston when I was in my 20's. He scaled the wall to get at me. It took me decades to move past anyone sneaking up on me. I would go into a severe anxiety attack every single time. My ex-husband used to announce himself loudly to avoid watching me go through this. The trauma stays with you forever. Imagine how the victim survivors feel when they are NOT heard or believed and cast aside as if they are nothing. Thankfully, they are united together.

Close your eyes for a moment and imagine what this country and our reputation on the world stage would be like if Hilary Clinton had been elected in 2016 and if Kamala Harris (whose predictions about trump including getting us into a war with Iran, economy, women's rights, climate change, etc. were spot-on) if she won in 2024. We'd have our Democracy and people wouldn't be murdered in the streets. There would still be benefits for the hungry and affordable care act... to name a few, They are both highly educated, competent, successful former attorneys, diplomatic, stateswomen, prepared, and historically knowledgeable. Instead we have a highly incompetent misogynistic fascist (including all the incompetent sycophants around him) ego-driven psychopathic narcissist historically unaware, uneducated, extremely corrupt, compromised by dictators, pathological liar, a convicted felon, fraud, and rapist who has enriched himself , his family, and billionaire oligarchs tenfold with no regard for the rest of us as h sis demented self sits in his vanity gaudy gold oval office.
Promote Inclusive Spaces
Encourage environments where women feel safe and valued. This includes workplaces, schools, and community groups. Policies that prevent harassment and discrimination are essential.
Increase Access to Platforms
Support women’s participation in media, politics, and leadership roles. This can involve mentoring, sponsorship, and creating opportunities specifically for women. We can't give up no matter our age. We need to speak out loud and if you have a platform, please use it to support the rights of women

and the fact that this Fascist (project 2025) is not a matter of left and right but a matter of wrong or right. We've become known as a morally bankrupt country instead of a united country for freedom, which is the only way to thrive. ICE has had full reign to abuse, murder, torture citizens without due process and accountability. Families have been ripped apart, disappeared, and put in inhumane conditions as if we're a cruel, corrupt banana republic. You have to give Jane Fonda a lot of credit. She's out there for us, for the environment, against the Iran war and a cruel, corrupt regime. She's been jailed, threatened but she never gives up and she has conviction! She may be 88-years-old and a celebrity but she isn't home resting on her laurels. She's out there with passion and empathy, and uses her celebrity for a largely viewed platform.
Challenge Gender Bias

Raise awareness about unconscious bias and stereotypes. Training and education can help people recognize and change biased behaviors. Women must keep speaking out strong! Call your representatives, protest, and march. Indivisible is a great source and available nation-wide that includes a calendar of events. The protests I've been to have been men and women of all ages, especially baby boomers. I'd love to see more young people involved. Your future depends on your smarts, passion, concerns, and conviction.
Support Economic Empowerment
Invest in programs that improve women’s financial independence, such as education, job training, and access to credit.
Use Technology Responsibly
Online platforms can amplify women’s voices but also expose them to risks. Promote digital literacy and safety measures to protect women from harassment.
The Role of Allies
Men and other allies play a crucial role in amplifying women’s voices. As an example to our current times in exposing the powerful pedophiles by releasing the rest of the files, we have Congressman Robert Garcia, Congressman Tom Massie, Congressman Ro Khanna and Congressman Jamie Raskin speaking out loudly to hold them accountable. Allies can:
Listen actively and respect women’s perspectives in politics and
Speak up against discrimination, sexual assault, pedophiles, and bias
Share platforms and opportunities with women
Support policies that promote gender equality and all rights of women
Happy International Women's Day to all my readers. As women, we must unite and encourage our men to stand by us. May the Universe bless us with compassionate change and leaders with integrity and conviction. For many of us, it's very difficult to cope with the daily barrage of tyranny and a new horror daily. Some days, I'm paralyzed by my dismay and definitely days that I'm infuriated by the destruction by this regime. I can only say what helps me: like-minded friends, kindness, earthing to ground me, caring for my home, patio, plants, Lucia (kitty), my hummingbirds, routine exercise, morning tea, mid-morning espresso, friend time, reading, writing, and binging on great series.
I send out nurturing love and care to all.
Keep on swimming, moving, and sailing through life,
